free text note: two morphotypes observed by TEM, one in cytoplasm close to hydrogenosomes, the other enclosed in vacuoles, but these may be pleiomorphy of same organism. Host is related to Heterometopus palaeformis, which also has methanogens. Genome 2.02 Mbp, not "significantly" reduced compared to free-living congeners, interpreted as a recently acquired symbiont (English)
